Security Clearance and Career on the line
The Case: Harris defended a nuclear physicist from the Lawreence Livermore Labratory studying for his PHD in nuclear science at Cal Berkeley who was charged with assault and robbery not far from the campus. A conviction could have cost him his security clearance with The United States Department of Energy and his career.
The Venue: Alameda County
The Outcome: Harris chose an extremeley aggressive approach with the Office of the District Attorney and supervised a detailed investigation of the alleged victims. As a result of a carefully constructed defense all charges were dismissed and a finding of factual innocence was obtained from the Court.
